GIRLS SPEAK!

Hello, My name is Meliah Descartes, and PROUD to be a product of what Sesame Flyers can truly do for the youth. It has been an honor not to only be raised in the organization, work in their summer camps, be the 2020 Melissa Hunte Scholarship award recipient, in my mother's name and now to be a part of the Sesame staff teaching online activities. Sesame was the vessel for me to continue striving to accomplish more things out there in the world such as becoming a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, being a part of the Caribbean Service Association in college.

I'm excited to introduce “Girls Speak” which is a Virtual Leadership platform where young ladies are allowed to express themselves with the gift of their voices. It will be a course full of discussions, building friendships, the art of public speaking, and much more. I am honored to be leading the course and being an example of true leadership. Calling young ladies ages 13-18 to be the change and let their voices cultivate tomorrow's future. Please see the flyer and join our girls speak squad!

This organization has a commitment to enhance the success of the Caribbean culture in the food service industry in New York City. CARA serves as a collective voice for hospitality businesses and strives to protect the prosperity of its members.
