On Sunday, June 29th, 2025, Sesame Flyers will mark 42 years of fostering culture, community, and Caribbean pride with their Caribbean Essence & Awards Showcase. This year's event, themed "Black Renaissance," offers a chance for reflection and renewal, merging our foundational roots with our future aspirations. The evening promises culturally immersive dance performances and the lively sounds of live Steel pan rhythms. There will be recognition of community leaders acknowledging their impactful service to the Caribbean community over the years and award scholarships to youth who will carry the torch forward, to secure the future of Caribbean culture. As the highlight of the night, Sesame Flyers will unveil our Carnival Band Launch 2025: "Carnival Renaissance: The Pageantry." This will embody how tradition can evolve into new forms, reborn, and elevated. A night with an explosion of color and sound, setting the stage for Labor Day 2025. |

June marks Caribbean American Heritage Month - a time to honor the legacy, culture, and enduring contributions of Caribbean people to the fabric of this nation. At Sesame Flyers, every day is a celebration of Caribbean excellence. From our youth programs to our Carnival traditions, Caribbean heritage is the heartbeat of who we are. This month, we proudly stand in that truth, honoring our roots and reflecting on the beauty, strength, and resilience that Caribbean culture brings to the world. We salute our ancestors, our communities, and the generations who continue to uplift our culture with pride and purpose.

This Father’s Day, we’re taking a
moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible dads, grandfathers, and
father figures who show up every day with love, strength, and
dedication. Whether it’s offering words of wisdom, lending a helping
hand, or just being a constant source of support, your presence means
more than words can express. Thank you for the quiet sacrifices, the big
laughs, and the unconditional love. Wishing you a day filled with
appreciation, relaxation, and the joy you truly deserve. |

Our Annual Sports Day was one of sunshine, laughter, and the unstoppable Sesame spirit on full display. Our high-energy races and team games saw athletes of all ages bring their determination, sportsmanship, and joy to the field. The competition and most importantly the connections that made the day special. Families came out strong, friends cheered each other on, and kids soaked up the sun. The love, the support, the community, was all there, and it was unforgettable.

The Winthrop Beacon Health Fair was a success, bringing together families, young people, and community members for a day focused on wellness. We offered a variety of free health services, including screenings for blood pressure, glucose, and vision. There were also helpful resources on mental health, nutrition, and physical fitness. Attendees had the chance to connect with local healthcare professionals, ask questions, and get practical tips for healthier living every day. We also had fun, hands-on activities that made learning about health both engaging and easy to understand.
A big thank you to all the healthcare providers, volunteers, and
community members who made the day so impactful. Events like this truly
strengthen our commitment to community wellness and help ensure that
vital health resources are within reach for everyone. |

Continuing our commitment to health and wellness, the Bildersee Beacon also hosted a successful health fair. The event similarly offered free health screenings, valuable wellness resources, and expert advice on staying healthy and active. Local health professionals and organizations were on hand to answer questions and share practical tips for living a healthier life.
